At the Open Door Foundation we recognise age-related changes and associated problems
We know that these can, and eventually do affect the health, the level of functioning, and especially, the quality of life for older adults living here in Spain. 

We understand and recognise the specific needs and concerns of the individual and their family, within this increasing ageing population of ‘ex-pats’ many of whom have not made any arrangements for their ageing health needs and / or eventual death.
We know from the calls we receive that they and their family are concerned as to how their health needs can be met as they progress into older adulthood. 

Open Door Foundation can and does provide ‘individual tailored-met’ nursing, care and respite care in the home.
We also specialise in preventative healthcare, that assists as people progress into older adulthood. 

Open Door Foundation has an extensive qualifications, knowledge and experience to assist us in the care of older adults.
With this experience, we are able to assist with considerations of aging, dietary habits, expressions of symptoms, family care-giving expectations, elderly abuse and neglect. 

The Open Door Foundation is the only foundation to recognise
the specific individual mental health needs of older adults.
Because we, are the only officially registered
Mental Health Foundation on the Madrid Register.

We can provide full assistance and care in the persons home in relation to cognitive and psychological functioning, coping alone in older adulthood and of course nursing care.

The age-related changes that older adulthood may unfortunately bring are:
Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, Depression, Bereavement, Anxiety, Challenging Behavioural Needs.
We know that carers also need to be considered, to have assistance, to be able to take time for themselves.

It would be impossible to convey all the nursing care, help and assistance we can provide on this website, particularly as often each individual case must be considered differently.
Hopefully, with the information provided, we can offer reassurance to you of the services that are available uniquely from us in Spain.
